Jorge Zalszupin (1922 – 2020), a Polish-born Brazilian architect and designer, founded L’Atelier in São Paulo in 1959. The company became known for its production of modernist furniture and, in 1970, was incorporated into the Forsa Group. Following the economic crisis of the 1980s, Zalszupin left the furniture industry and devoted himself to architecture.
